Ohio Senate Proposes Bill to Overhaul Recreational Marijuana Laws

Lawmakers are considering Senate Bill 56, which would amend the state's voter-approved recreational marijuana laws by lowering THC potency limits, reducing home-grow allowances from 12 to 6 plants per household, restricting cannabis transport, and eliminating social equity programs. If passed, S.B. 56 could reshape Ohio’s cannabis industry, affecting businesses, medical patients, and consumers by rolling back key provisions of Issue 2 that was voted in 2023 with 57% approval.
